Tatjana Zonca is an Italian-German artist living and working in Milan. She has spent her life between Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and her work has been exhibited in Milan, Rome, Berlin, Barcelona, and London.
Her practice originates in photography and unfolds as an exploration of time, memory, and perception. After an initial background in fashion, during her years in Hamburg Zonca developed a project focused on photographic serigraphy, a process combining photography with digital intervention. This phase of her research investigated the transformation of the photographic image through layering, distortion, and subtle chromatic shifts, turning it into a suspended and evocative fragment.
Zonca’s work can be read through three temporal stages: the instant of the shot, the time of memory, and the moment of studio creation. Each phase carries a distinct emotional intensity, giving rise to images that suggest landscapes, human presences, and distant visions, akin to memories emerging from a dream.
Alongside photographic serigraphy, Tatjana Zonca produces limited-edition photographic works, developing new projects in which photography functions as an autonomous medium. These works portray her world with the same delicacy and dreamlike quality, evoking memories and intangible moments within an ongoing investigation of time and its dilations.
Tatjana Zonca è un’artista italo-tedesca che vive e lavora a Milano. Ha trascorso la sua vita tra Germania, Italia e Regno Unito, esponendo il suo lavoro in città come Milano, Roma, Berlino, Barcellona e Londra.
La sua ricerca nasce dalla fotografia e si sviluppa come una riflessione sul tempo, sulla memoria e sulla percezione. Dopo un iniziale percorso nella moda, durante gli anni ad Amburgo Zonca ha avviato un progetto incentrato sulla serigrafia fotografica, una pratica che le ha permesso di fondere fotografia e intervento digitale. Questo capitolo della sua ricerca si è concentrato sulla trasformazione dell’immagine fotografica attraverso sovrapposizioni, distorsioni e variazioni cromatiche, fino a renderla un frammento sospeso, evocativo e non lineare.
Il lavoro di Zonca si articola in tre momenti: lo scatto, la rielaborazione della memoria e il tempo della creazione in studio. Ogni fase corrisponde a una diversa intensità emotiva, dando vita a immagini che evocano paesaggi, presenze umane e visioni lontane, come ricordi affiorati da un sogno.
Accanto alla serigrafia fotografica, Tatjana Zonca realizza fotografie in edizione limitata, sviluppando nuovi progetti in cui la fotografia diventa un linguaggio autonomo. Queste opere raccontano il suo mondo con la stessa delicatezza e qualità onirica, evocando ricordi e momenti non tangibili, in una continua esplorazione del tempo e delle sue dilatazioni.
